Common Ground and UX

Common ground is a concept introduced by the psycholinguists Herb Clark and Susan Brennan. Common ground refers to the mutual knowledge, beliefs, and assumptions that partners in a conversation rely on in order to communicate efficiently. In the absence of common ground, we could never use shortcuts in communication.
