Improving user experience by reducing interaction cost

The more effort users are required to spend in interacting with a site to reach their goals, the less usable the product is. Mental interaction cost (or cognitive load) refers to the amount of mental resources required to operate the product. Chunking is a way of organising information into meaningful and bite-sized units in order to make more efficient use of working memory.
