UI/UX Design - Penpot a Figma Killer?

Penpot is an open-source alternative to Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch that came about as a means to bypass monopolies and further democratize modern UI/UX design. Adobe recently bought Figma and purportedly has plans to roll it into their service offering, Creative Cloud.
