Unlabeled Icons - Sacrificing Usability for Aesthetics
People have been confused by unlabeled pictograms for over 10,000 years. Despite 2021 being several thousand years after the invention of written language, modern applications are still swarming with naked symbols. For low-vision users, many icons contain tiny details that make them indistinguishable. For screen-reader users, they are totally unreadable unless tagged properly.
