Snapchat's Juneteenth filter prompted users to ‘smile’ to break the chains of slavery. The company apologized, and took the filter down, but the damage was done. Oona King, Snap’s vice president of diversity and inclusion, sent an apology email to employees the weekend after Juneteenth.
